For All Divisions

  • The games end on time, No Exceptions! Five minutes before the next game starts.
  • Home team is first / top team number on the schedule
  • Home team provides referee
  • Each referee is responsible for finding his/her own substitute
  • 1st Game 5:30—6:30 PM.
  • 2nd Game 6:35—7:35 PM.
  • 3rd Game 7:40—8:40 PM.
  • U6 Games 5:00 PM. Thursday only
  • U14 and U19 1st Game 5:30 - 6:55 PM.
  • 2nd Game 7:00 - 8:40 PM.

Referee, Safety and Pre-Game Inspection

  1. No jewelry
  2. No earrings
  3. Soft hair ties only (nothing hanging or loose) No metal barrettes or hairclips
  4. Shorts may extend below the bottom of the uniform; recommend same color
  5. Medical bracelets taped (recommend removal, give to an parent or coach)
  6. Sports straps for glasses, strongly recommend
  7. Mouth guards for players with braces, strongly recommend
  8. Shin guards must be completely covered by socks
  9. Inspect shoes, Only soccer spikes or tennis shoes, No Baseball Spikes.
  10. First referee is to inspect the field and net before first game begins
  11. If a player is injured, the coach will be allowed onto the field; all players are to go to their respective coach’s area. Referees should stop play immediately.
  12. Parent, Guardian or ambulance attendant are the only people allowed to transport a player for medical care, coaches and referees may not
  13. Players are not allowed to wear hard cast or any type of metal splint. Any knee braces with metal must have the exposed metal covered. The referee at the field will decide.
  14. Special request/circumstances need to be reviewed and approved by the AYSO Board.

Coaches

Coaches are required to have their Player Registration Forms at ALL Practices, and Games. Absolutely No:

  • No alcoholic beverages at games or practices
  • No one under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • No smoking coaches and referees (we also ask spectators not to smoke)
  • No pets of any kind at games or practices

Conduct

  1. Spectators and coaches are not allowed to yell at the referees or assistant referees during games (exception, see #6). Remember, Kids Zone Rules.
  2. Spectators must maintain a minimum of 10 feet from the touchline.
  3. Assistant referees may stop the game if the spectators infringe into this area.
  4. Coaches leaving the team area during the game will receive a warning. Coaches leaving a second time will be receiving a verbal caution (no card shown).
  5. Players not currently playing in the game must stay in the team area with the coach!
  6. If a player is injured and needs immediate attention, signal the referee and/or coach. If a player becomes ill while playing, have the player sit down where he/she is (heat exhaustion, upset stomach, etc.), and signal the referee and coach. The game will be stopped immediately.
  7. Any player issued a red card must attend his/her next game but will not be allowed to play.
  8. A second red card to the same player, in the same season, will result in an AYSO Board review.

FIFA Laws Apply, with the Following Exceptions:

Under 6

  1. Throw-in law is not enforced, but instruct children on correct procedure.
  2. Kickoff every quarter from the center of the field. Switching halves only at halftime
  3. No penalty kicks.
  4. “No red or yellow cards” give players time out as necessary.
  5. 12-minute halves; two 6-minute quarters.
  6. 4v4 players
  7. “All Kicks” are Indirect
  8. No goalkeepers
  9. All attacking players — this allows more scoring
  10. No Heading the Ball — Attacking the ball and intentionally heading it -~ Indirect free kick
  11. Substitution at quarter breaks only. (Exception: Injury)

Practice time is the scheduled time. Game start time is 20 Minutes after the scheduled time for the field.

Under 8

  1. Dead ball ~ goalkeeper touches the ball.
  2. Goal stands, ball touches goalkeeper and scores.
  3. Goalkeeper changed every quarter.
  4. Throw-in Law 15 will be followed; exception allow for 2 additional throw-ins.
  5. Blatant offside will be called.
  6. An obvious goal-denying foul in the penalty area will result in a Penalty Kick.
  7. 20-minute halves; two 10-minute quarters.
  8. Goalkeeper may not be knocked down (in goal area); unintentional foul ~ verbal warning; intentional foul ~ escorted off.
  9. No slide tackling. A Player leaving their feet and tackling the ball with an opponent within playing distance. Dangerous play ~ indirect free kick.
  10. Coaches and Players on the opposite side of the field away from the spectators.
  11. No Heading the Ball ~Attacking the ball and intentionally heading it. Dangerous play ~ indirect free kick.
  12. Substitution at quarter break only. (Exception: Injury)
  13. 6v6 players

Under 10

  1. Dead ball — goalkeeper has ball in control.
  2. Goalkeeper changed every half.
  3. 24-minute halves. No Quarter Breaks!
  4. 5-minute halftime
  5. Goalkeeper may not be knocked down (in goal area); unintentional foul ~ verbal warning; intentional foul ~ escorted off.
  6. Free substitution on your throw-in, all goal kicks, or before kick-off. If the team doing the throw-in is substituting, the opponent may also substitute.
  7. No slide tackling. A Player leaving their feet and tackling the ball with an opponent within playing distance. Dangerous play ~ indirect free kick
  8. Coaches and Players on the opposite side of the field away from the spectators.
  9. No Heading the Ball ~ Attacking the ball and intentionally heading it. Dangerous play ~ indirect free kick
  10. 8v8 players

Under 12

Under 14

  4. Free substitution on your throw-in, all goal kicks, or before kick-off. If the team doing the throw-in is substituting, the opponent may also substitute
  5. Substitutes are to be at the halfway line before the ball goes out of play.
  6. No slide tackling. A Player leaving their feet and tackling the ball with an opponent within playing distance. Dangerous play ~ indirect free kick
  7. Coaches and players on the opposite side of the field away from the spectators.
  8. No bicycle kicks or flip throw-ins.

Under 19/High School
